^ That's a great song. U2 are ones who sometimes create the most beautiful lyrics, and sometimes I just shake my head and wonder how that made the album.

Here's one of my favourites:

If the door is open it isn’t theft

You can’t return to where you’ve never left

Blossoms falling from a tree they cover you and cover me

Symbols clashing, bibles smashing

Paint the world you need to see

Sometimes fear is the only place that we can call our home

Cedarwood Road

And then there's this:

Unos, dos, tres, catorce

Yeah, Bono, you don't know Spanish. But I doubt he cares.

I actually dislike the song Waterfalls by TLC, but Left Eye's rap verse is simply poetic. She was so brilliant R.I.P.

verse 3 Left Eye:

I seen a rainbow yesterday, but too many storms have come and gone

Leaving a trace of not one God-given ray

Is it because my life is ten shades of gray

I pray, all ten fade away

Seldom praise Him for the sunny days

And like his promise is true

Only my faith can undo the many chances I blew to bring my life to anew

Clear and blue and unconditional skies

Have dried the tears from my eyes

No more lonely cries

My only bleeding hope

Is for the folk who can't cope with such an enduring pain

That it keeps them in the pouring rain

Who's to blame for tooting 'caine into your own vein

What a shame, you shoot and aim for someone else's brain

You claim the insane

And name this day in time

For falling prey to crime

I say the system's got you victim to your own mind

Dreams are hopeless aspirations in hopes of coming true

Believe in yourself the rest is up to me and you

"Put it in a twist."

One of the Evil Stepsisters, to Cinderella, in Sondheim's great musical take

on fairy tales that "share the same dark forest." Into The Woods.*

Pretty soon he'll teach them a lesson/Everyone hears a gunpowder message.

From the song "Inhumane" by Fades Away. I love the raw brutality of the song which is perfectly exemplified by this line.

A thousand scars betray me/oh, what's another one.

From the song "Cauterize" by Red. While it's a great line on its own, I love how it's sung with a reluctant acceptance.

Act 1 ~ Dumbledore sings to Harry Potter:

"We don't talk about You Know-Know-Know Who"

I think it works, lol. 🎶

"He was sunshine, I was midnight rain. He wanted it comfortable, I wanted that pain. He wanted a bride, I was making my own name, chasing that fame. He stayed the same. All of me changed like midnight rain."

From Taylor Swift's "Midnight Rain" on her new album Midnights. Any other major Swifties out there?
